The Alma Soprano Laser works by using its patented SHR™ technology. Instead of exposing the hair follicle to a single high-energy pulse which can cause trauma to the skin, SHR™ gradually heats the dermis to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicle and prevents regrowth.
This gradual heating is paired with contact cooling (ICE™ technology), which cools the skin surface, preventing superficial burns and enhancing patient comfort throughout the session.
The target skin area is cleansed, and hair is shaved close to the skin surface. A cool ultrasound gel is applied, which helps the laser applicator glide smoothly. The technician sweeps the laser handpiece over the skin in a continuous sweeping motion. You will experience a comfortable warming sensation.
Because hair grows in different cycles (anagen, catagen, and telogen), lasers can only target hair follicles in their active growth phase. We generally recommend a course of 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, to achieve the best results.
We advise avoiding direct sun exposure, hot baths, saunas, and intense workouts for 24-48 hours after treatment. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher to protect the treated skin. Avoid harsh skincare products or scrubs for at least 3 days.
